High-End Custom Manufacturing Company
Pop-ups, seasonal installations, and custom seating, designed and built in Vancouver.
Shopping centre managers, property teams, and hospitality venues work with us to turn concourses, plazas, and patios into destinations. Our work includes projects at Guildford Town Centre, Central City Shopping Centre, and The Amazing Brentwood, along with patio activations at Earls and CRAFT Beer Market.
A physical installation gives shoppers something to do, not just something to walk past. Seating invites people to linger. A pop-up lets them try products in person, and a distinctive centrepiece becomes the photo they share with friends. The Smash + Tess “Spring Fling” pop-up we built at Guildford Town Centre shows how mall activations can perform. According to Monday Creative, which created the concept, the month-long activation welcomed more than 5,800 shoppers, and the wider campaign generated more than 17 million press and social impressions.
Installing inside an open shopping centre or on a working restaurant patio takes careful coordination. We plan around access routes, working heights, equipment, crew requirements, permitted working hours, and installation windows. Overnight work, specialist access equipment, and tight windows all affect pricing and scheduling, so we account for them from the first conversation. Outdoor installations are weather-dependent too, since rain can prevent some work, particularly graphics application, from proceeding properly.
Many of our property clients plan activations around the calendar, from summer programming to the holidays. If you want an installation to return, include reuse in the brief from the beginning. We can design bolted connections and components for repeated assembly, and we’ll factor in the number of uses, future locations, and how pieces will travel between seasons. Since we don’t currently offer ongoing storage, it helps to plan early for where everything will live in the off-season.

Tell us about your objectives, audience, budget, dates, and location, along with your property’s requirements for access, working hours, and installation.
Whether you have a developed concept or just a starting idea, we review it and prepare pricing, adding preliminary design and material options where needed.
We confirm the scope in a formal agreement. Once it’s signed and the deposit is paid, we develop detailed drawings for your approval, and any later changes are assessed for cost and schedule.
We build in our Vancouver shop, staging and testing components before installation where appropriate.
We install within your permitted windows. When the activation ends, we strike it and handle transport to storage or disposal, as defined in the scope.
Our activation projects generally start at $20,000 CAD, and past projects have ranged from about $25,000 to $300,000. Scale, customization, materials, durability, integrated features, and site logistics all influence the investment. For something larger, talk to us early so we can explore scope and fit. Project-specific pricing is always confirmed in a proposal.
Allow at least two months from approved drawings, a signed agreement, and a paid deposit to installation, and three to four months or more if you’re starting from an idea. Shorter turnarounds are assessed individually and can require a substantially higher budget.
Your overall budget should also cover costs outside our scope, such as promotion, staffing, and event operation.
This is the 2nd year we’ve worked with MJY Fabrication on different projects, and each time it’s been a success. Michael and his team find solutions to every situation without compromising the design. They also respect budget and timeline. We’ll definitely continue to work with MJY on future projects!

Ideally, while your campaign and budget are still taking shape. Working back from your opening date, the earlier we begin, the more room there is to develop a distinctive experience, work through venue logistics, and make budget decisions without pressure. Holiday and summer programming are good examples of dates worth planning around well in advance.
Yes. Much of our work happens inside operating properties, so we’re used to fitting installs around shoppers and opening hours. Share your property’s rules for contractor access and working times early, since after-hours work can change both the schedule and the cost.
Your team or agency runs the activation for its full run. For some projects, we schedule a visit partway through to handle small adjustments or touch-ups. Larger repairs, such as major damage from public use, fall outside the original scope and are treated as additional work.
Both. Some property teams come to us through their agency with a concept already developed, and we focus on making it buildable. Others come to us directly, in which case we usually take on more of the ideation and design work alongside the build.
